Neptec Design Group, Ottawa, Canada, which provides intelligent 3D vision systems for military, manufacturing and aerospace applications, partnered with Terrapoint Canada Inc., Ottawa, a LIDAR service provider active in civil engineering markets. Under the agreement, Neptec will develop software to automate post-processing of data collected by TiTAN, Terrapoint’s dynamic 3D laser scanning system. In turn, Neptec will license the technology that underlies the TiTAN sensor system to produce a vehicle-mounted 3D lidar scanning system for military and security markets, especially urban modeling.
