On Aug. 29, Topcon Corporation of Tokyo announced the acquisition of Voxis, Inc., a supplier of laser scanner technology and high-resolution motion systems, and the launch of the GLS-1000 by Topcon Positioning Systems. The two companies have been collaborating for more than two years on the laser scanner unit, which uses time-of-flight measurement combined with phase-based analysis technology.
