URS, San Francisco, adopted InteliSum‘s LD3 data fusion software to create project visualizations, and will OEM the software to its clients. This endorsement by one of the world’s largest engineering design firms is a big boost for InteliSum, Salt Lake City, UT, whose LD3 Studio Software Suite is a 3D scene capture and data processing application that lets users combine LIDAR data, digital images and GPS data. URS will use LD3 to create visualizations especially for bidding and executing midsize to smaller projects, where visualization traditionally has not been economically justifiable, InteliSum reports. URS will OEM the software to its clients to aid them in using the deliverables it creates with LD3. InteliSum sales vice president Frank Algarin tells us his company is “just getting into the phase of figuring out how big the deal will be.” Currently the partnership is focused on a number of trial projects prior to a full-scale rollout.
