This year’s LFM user meeting in Houston, TX will feature a “3D Day in the Field” open house on Thursday, February 4th.

The event is hosted by LFM and point3D at Eaton’s Houston Experience Center, and it is intended to provide interested participants with the experience of using 3D capture devices in a real world setting in the Center’s mock petrochemical refinery and power substation. Users will be able to try out laser scanning and 3D imaging systems from DotProduct, FARO, Leica, NCTech (iSTAR), RIEGL, and Z+F. Along with capturing 3D data, participants will be able to experience the whole work process from capture to LFM Server database manipulation. Previously captured data from Eaton published in NetView 4 will be available for user experience. The event will finish with a buffet lunch at noon.
