2017 is turning out to be a good year for rapidlasso, makers of the LAStools lidar processing application. At INTERGEO, the company was nominated for two Wichmann Innovation Awards—in the startup and software categories—and won both. The last award, for hardware, went to Leica Geosystems for its BLK360.

The award seems to be a long time coming for rapidlasso, which was nominated for an award in 2012 for its LASzip application.

In accepting the award, rapidlasso founder and CEO Dr. Martin Isenberg made certain to thank the LAStools user community. He said that the users have made the software better by helping and motivating “in designing workflows and in solving format issues and processing challenges.”
